I see the the view finder result as being focused on the nose, live view is focused on the eyes. This is also apparent in the text on the attached cards. If you have taken a number of test shots and can rule out AF inconsistency as the problem, then you may have to resort to using live view for utmost focusing accuracy. Even as good a lens as the 70-200 is, minimum focusing distance at 200mm is a stern test. Read some of Roger Cicala's, "lensrentals.com, articles for a clearer understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of modern camera AF systems. Even with AF fine tune, most of us have to deal with this issue to some degree or other and find a suitable compromise. Aloha.
