Maybe SWD technology? IDK but all I know is the 14-54 mkI simply is not up to the task.

How would SWD technology drastically improve performance over alternative drive systems IN LOW LIGHT. Has the lens got some sort of optical sensor in it and decides to work better when the light levels drop??

You're asking me a question I cannot answer. I was just offering up a suggestion as to perhaps why. All I know is extensive experience tells me that the 12-60 focuses much quicker and with more accuracy IN LOW LIGHT than the 14-54 MKI.    I keep the MK1 because it is a good lens, and I do have the Oly Ring Flash and it's the only lens I can mount it to w/o an adapter ring, like I have to do the 50 F2.
