What is worth a picture ?

I don't know how many of you have ever thought about the really mundane common things we see every day, but never really look at, much less think of as interesting enough to photograph. The Dallas Morning News had an interesting photo essay (Jan.6, 2014) with a number of still life images made by staff photographer Guy Reynolds with his iPhone.

Artists like Robert Rauschenberg used "found art" objects to make a statement about our throw-away society. Guy Reynolds' photographs show the same interest in objects we walk by daily, but he finds compositional and textural interest in them. Even if it isn't your cup-of-tea, maybe it will get you thinking about mundane objects you see everyday, and finding a few worth a picture !

These images reminded me of an on-going gallery of never-before-looked-at "accidental street art" below my feet that I started several years ago, and that I add to now and then when I see something fun on my daily walks. Here's the link to my "found art" gallery I named "Street Signs: Do you see what I see " .... and your turn to show your inspiration from something that caught your eye but you've never really looked at before !
