Why no inbuilt wifi in top tier Nikon cameras?
2

Hi,

Just wondering why Nikon won't embed wi-fi chips inside their top-tier cameras such as d4, d800 and even latest d610(apart from price gouging?).

My GX-7 has the chip built in and I'm often sending a mix of images from it and the D4+WT-5a via ipad mini.  However, the WT-5 is a weak point during inclement weather and I often have to take it off because I don't any water ruining it.  My friend has the Canon 6d and has a very streamlined wi-fi workflow for sending images on deadline.

Thanks.
