just a tip to above: maybe superzoom is for you

We live in a world full of compromises. Even if such a lens like 16-300mm would exist, it would be big, heavy and expensice and on top of that, the quality wouldn't be good. I can understand that you dont want to switch lenses, but that is one of the reason why interchangeable lens cameras are made for.

Maybe a fixed lens camera with smaller sensor is for you? You could use both cameras. The DSLR for special needs like low light or macro and regular stuff with a superzoom camera. It even does not cost more than a lens. In example DSC-HX300 with aps-c equivalent of 16-800mm. I know, having two cameras sound stupid. But you can see this as another compromise.
