Re: Sony 35mm 1.8 vs 18-135mm for A65.

I got the 18-55 lens when I purchased my A55.  Since then, I have added a Tamron 18-270mm, and a 35mm F1.8.

They are very different lenses, and do not conflict.  The zoom is the walk-around lens.  The 35mm is available light.  It works very well with my Tamron 60mm F2, which is acceptable as available light (a bit slow focusing at times is the only drawback).

HOWEVER - if I were doing it again, I am not sure i would get the 18-270mm.  Main reason - 18mm is not quite wide enough at times.  I use the long end a lot, and the wide end a lot, and I don't like changing lenses when out and around if not necessary, so maybe the 18-270 is the best comprimise, but I wonder at times about a 16-105mm instead.

If there was a 16-250mm or 14-300mm......
