Hello, all. Just thought I'd share a few shots taken with the 330/Ixus 255 today on a day-trip to Kamakura, Japan. Most of these are taken in Program mode with Brian's suggested settings, though a couple of them are in Smart Auto as it's interesting to see how the camera puzzles these shots out in the different modes.
Full album is here :
Here are a few sample shots:

I'm quite impressed with what a very mediocre photographer like me can do with a tiny P/S camera like this. I'm especially impressed (with the equipment, not the photographer) with the bamboo shot as it was taken at ISO 800 (in Program) - a remarkable performance for this little camera. If you're considering it, maybe these will be of some value to you. Thanks for looking and any comments/critiques would be welcomed.
This simple room shot is just wonderful, somehow the outside scene is not blown out, its full details are still there, exposed well, and yet the inside is also nicely exposed, it comes together to make a realistic view that the eye would see.
This is what impresses me greatly about these little cameras, as a photographic tool they assist us and make it fun again, you don't have to battle with the equipment, its a credit to canon that their P&S cameras have reached this level of capability, unfortunately at a time when most people don't seem to want them.
Brian
Heh, you know that's actually one (the only one of the four in the post body) taken in Smart Auto. I knew that was a "money shot" so I took a few both in Auto and Program just to see which I liked better. Generally over the course of the day I preferred the shots in Program, but in this setting I liked the Auto shots better.
