Panasonic GM1 - horizontal bands in dark photos

I recently purchased a Panasonic GM1 and 20mm f1.7 lens. I am noticing horizontal bands in dark photos. The bands are not obvious when looking at the photo as shot, but when editing the RAW file in Lightroom and turning up the exposure, the bands become very obvious.

My previous camera was a Canon S100. I checked a few files, none of them exhibit similar horizontal bands.

I have uploaded an example. The photo is extremely dark and the exposure is extremely turned up to highlight the bands. I realize that turning up the exposure on a dark photo will result in tons of noise. But my Canon S100 did not have these horizontal bands.

Is this normal? Is there something wrong with my unit?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
