Not better, just more DOF

I have been seeing a lot of "Should I move to FF?", "difference between f4 and f2.8 lens", "New DF coming" kind of posts in the past month. I really wonder whether the photos taken by those people have improved after spending all those money in new gears and gadgets.

There's not much reason why anyone's photography would improve simply from moving to a larger sensor (i.e. APS-C to FF). It may open more options, but skill-wise, a FF shouldn't change much. To me, the main difference when I upgraded to FF a few years back was the shallower DOF. The better ISO performance was a nice bonus, but to me it was the ability to play with shallower DOF that was the real appeal.

Photography - It's not what you look at that matters; it's what you see.
