I don't understnad DX0 metrics

Sorry if the question is rudimentary but how does DX0 measure a sensor's resolution ability. I am sure that it is an artifact of one of the three measures, probably the Color Depth, but in reading the description of Color Depth, it is defined as "Color sensitivity indicates to what degree of subtlety color nuances can be distinguished from one another". Can you in theory, have a sensor that can distinguish a high number of colors but is unable to distinguish fine details?

I don't think resolution is an artifact of Dynamic Range or High ISO, but again none of the three to my mind have a direct connection to resolution.
