NEX-7, 500mm and of course those darn birds

Out yesterday with somewhat broken weather, clouds and sunshine. Threw the Canon 500mm on the NEX-7 and shot a few birds for the new year. A couple from today as well.

From this morning with a Sparrow in blast off mode

Sparrow trio sitting on the Flax bush

This one turned up again, still looking for an ID for them.

A Quail, don't get to see too many of these. A male this one

Up onto a stump he went to keep a look out I guess

White faced Heron flying through

Have to have a Kingfisher somewhere

Spur Winged Plover / Lapwing flying though. Also call these a masked Lapwing. The spurs on the wing make these different to other parts of the world.

All the best folks and HAPPY NEW YEAR !!
