SD14 going down after shooting, sporadic but frequent, including with power supply

Hi there,

long time no post, since I was just enjoying the camera, with pleasant yet unspectacular results - nothing original, lovely photos of the kids, stuff...

Today, I just built a setup for digitizing old paper photos of my grandma with the SD14 . Was planning to use it with its original power supply + strobe & lightbox + 50mm 2.8 EX.

Now, just when I'm almost done with the setup, the camera will sporadically go off & reset after every other shoot, to the point the setup is unusable.

Rather recently I made a shooting of 150+ kids where I did not face this condition, yet had some trouble having the camera synch with the flash (using sigma EF500DG super).

To explore today's issue, I have changed the optics (as the AF of the 50mm has been showing show some hardpoint in the past, yet in this case i'm using MF), removed the flash cable, secured the power cable. Still sporadic reboots. Now I'm recharging my last living battery to see if it will help to have it backup the power supply (which would tend to point to the PS as the culprit, although the camera could be progressively damaging the battery as well...).

Has anyone encountered such condition?

Henri
