Wide zoom and a prime as walk-around set
I generally use my D600 with 24-85 VR zoom but in time I understood that 24mm is not wide enough for me and found myself reaching for Nikon 18-35mm G. Hence I now carry 2 zooms in my sling. I tried carrying my Sigma 35 1.4mm along with Tokina 100mm 2.8 macro but found 35mm is not wide enough for some shots I'd like to make.
Now I plan to add Nikon 85mm 1.8G to my collection and use it along with Nikon 18-35G as walk-around set. This will allow me to cover wide ends with zoom and a prime for casual portraits or low-light shots. Last but not least this setup will be really light which ks important as I will carry it with small sling bag.
I was just wandering has anyone used wide zoom and a 85mm prime as a walk-around setup and how it worked.
