Faulty Filters

Back in May I purchased three Hoya Pro-1 Digital UV - sizes: 52mm, 58mm and a and 77mm.

The 77mm coating started exhibiting spots - which could not be cleaned off - the 58mm showed signs as well.

Amazon replaced all three and just yesterday I've noticed the same thing happening again to the 77mm.  Looking at the reviews, other customers have reported the same issues.

To give Amazon their due, I have asked for a refund on all three - I'm sending them back next week but I need to find replacements.

I've always thought Hoya was a good trusted brand but now I've lost confidence in them.

I've looked an B+W so far but they are quite expensive but at the end of the day you need something good quality to protect a £1,000 lens so you get what you pay for.

Any advice on other makes / brand of filters?  I'm just looking for UV at the moment to keep the lenses weather sealed.
