Wide aperture lenses for indoor video on 70D?

I don't own any Canon but the 70D is very interesting and I have no brand loyalty.

From what I can tell, the STM lens lineup is somewhat limited. The zooms are f/3.5 and the primes are f/2.8 at best and are a little bit long for indoor use.

Anyone know if third party lenses like Sigma 18-35 1.8 or the 35 1.4 are good video lenses? Where can I find a list of third party lenses that work with the 70D?

Will an on camera microphone still pick up the AF motor noise of a third party lens? Is there a way to insulate an on camera microphone from the AF motor noise? Does Canon have any faster and wider STM lenses about to come out?
