Really like the IQ and size

Being an amateur (upgraded from d700 and don't regret it one bit) I shoot mainly landscapes and architectural with an occasional portrait.

I really like:

video exposure control via Manual Mode

small form factor, easier to hold for extended time

great files with lot's of dynamic range

wireless downloads with WU-1b

U1 and U2 Modes but wish we could give them a name to help me remember the setting intent

timelapse function

on board flash (esp. For commander mode with my sub-600)

virtual horizon for architectural and landscapes

high ISO IQ

no oil spots for me at 800+ images

build is great and weight is reasonable

Auto ISO works great!

Auto WB is stellar!

Don't like so much:

controls are a little wonky, especially release dial left side and ISO control (like d700 better with dedicated button)

no viewfinder shutter

if you use Live mode a lot ('cause it works so much better than D700) it cuts down on battery life

no aperture control in Live mode

wish wireless was built in and not a dongle

remote release with ML3 is just OK, but haven't tried wired options yet

In sum the d610 is the best all around DSLR I've ever owned!
