Canon 85mm f1.8 vs 100mm f2 for nightime portraits

I like doing portraits at night, with city lights as the backdrop.  I got a Canon 6D which has incredible high iso and lets me do this more easily.  Now I'm debating between these two lenses.

I've read that the 85mm f1.8 has a lot of purple fringing and or chromatic aberration, which the 100mm f2 does not.  Is this true, how bad is it, and will it effect shots like those described above?
