NEX-7, 500mm: Small birds of the Flax plant

Got up on Christmas day to brilliant warm sunshine ...... no snow here

What to do, hmmm, out with the NEX and on with the Canon 500mm, onto the tripod for a change, out onto the deck, cup of coffee and I was in heaven Just waited for a few birds to show up, nothing exciting (except for me) and just had a few clicks at the birds.

So the mighty little sparrow which I still love funny enough and sitting in the Flax plant and a couple of others. A new bird for me as well further down.

Go on, give us a kiss will ya

Are you checking me out or what !!

A little nibble for Christmas

Getting fluffed up for a photo shoot. This is my best side.

A starling decided to turn up and had pollen on its head from the flax flower

A new one for me and a first. I think these are a NZ grey Warbler, but I could be wrong.

Either way, the first time I've seen these, so that's always a blast

Two in the bush is worth ...... something

Curious look

Trying to make the most out of this new one

Hey, all the best folks and hope Christmas day was as nice for you and the family as it was for us down here
