Why did the 700D replace the 650D?

I noticed recently, in a list of Rebel models on the Canon web site, that the they say the 650D was "replaced" by the 700D. I have also noticed that the 600D is still being sold but not the 650D.

Was there a problem with the 650D that lead to the 700D being brought out to replace it? I do recall comments at the time that the 700D doesn't seem to be significantly different to the 650D. The only problem that I have head of with this model is that some of them had a white powder that exuded from the plastic.

I own a 650D and it seems perfectly good (in fact very good) to me.

[EDIT] Correction. I don't think it was on the Canon web site.
