Went to Universal Studios in Orlando Florida. Was surprised by what I saw in terms of the cameras being used.
First off, DSLR cams, with kit lenses there was more than a few, but not that many.
More common was P&S, some superzoom and some cheap and small ones, about a 50/50 split.
Suprised to see 4-5 Canon G12-15. And I think one Nikon P7000 whatever the Nikon is called that looks like the Canon G series.
Next I saw 3-4 full frame DSLRs, with a few nice lenses. Most surprising was seeing a little and old Asian lady with 2 full frame bodies and 2 large gold ringed lenses. These things were huge, and looked comical on the lady.
Then the big surprise for me was the amount of Sony NEX cameras. Mostly saw the new 3N, with the power zoom. Saw a pink one, the rest silver. No NEX 7, but at least one NEX 6, and the rest older 3 and 5 series.
Next saw, 2 EPM2's, and one EP5, and I had my EPM2, so 4 Olympus MFT. Also saw one GX1, and one GF3 or 4. So, 6 MFT.
Saw two Samsung NX300's, one with the 20-50, one with the 18-55, or whatever the better kit lens is.
Did not see any Fuji cams, no X100-S, no X-E1 etc.
And then, too many Iphones, but probably more DSLR's.
And lastly a few tablets.
Here is the thing though. Universal was packed with foreigners. Especially, Asian, so many Asian, and Germans, and other northern Europeans. And a lot of Spanish speakers. Other than the people working in the park, and the few Americans that spoke while being close behind me in line, I heard Chinese and Spanish and German all day. I heard more non-English than English. I was there for 4 days, if anything there was more English Speaking Americans on the first day, Tuesday.
So, mostly the Asians had the NEX cams, and only Asians had the MFT cams, except, the GX1 was being carried by an American White lady.
Also was lucky to go to Colonial Photo, and was able to try every camera I had been wanting to try.
Found out, that the Fuji XE-2 is too big for me, I was thinking of going to Fuji X, but I do not like the weight.
Amazed at how small the EM5 really is in person it is barely bigger than the EPM2. But I did not like the buttons, I get what people are saying now, too squishy, too cramped. And at how good the EM1 feels and looks in person. I thought that EM1 was dead ugly in pictures, but in person it looks like a premium product.
The EP5 is great, that I what I am going for when I upgrade from my EPM2, like I had been assuming, EP6 for me, probably in a year or so.
Held the EOS M, did not like the look and feel.
Ok the Fuji X100S is amazing and is such a great size and weight.
But I was able to try several Olympus MFT lenses, and I am staying with MFT. I was considering getting the X100S, but I tried the Olympus 17MM F1.8 and was blown away, for the price of the lens, $400, and the price I payed for my EPM2, $350, I am at $750, I am saving $550 over the Fuji X100s and I am happy.
Next on my list, get a 45MM F1.8
12MM F2.0, too wide for me.
15MM F8, not bad, fun interesting.
I think I will get the Olympus 17MM F2.8, because of how small it is. So tiny, fits in my cargo pants pocket like a dream.
Selling my Sigma 19MM F2.8 back to Amazon, I like the 17MM F1.8 better, Sigma just makes no sense now.
Took my camera on all the ride, put it in my cargo pocket, a little tight and uncomfortable, but it worked. Actually the first day, I just hid it around my neck and under my jacket and went on all of the rides. So the 17MM F1.8 is a little too big for my cargo pocket, but the 17MM F2.8 would be perfect. Wish Olympus would make a pancake 25MM F2.0.
