As a pre-stylus 1 (xz-1) user and currently holding a second-gen PEN (E-PM1) with 30mm f 2.8 fixed lens, I can say that Stylus might beat this combo by its;

  • Handheld IS
  • Pocketability

Yes but (1) the OP was comparing the Stylus 1 to current 3rd generation Pens and the 4th Generation EM1 as far as AF and IQ was concerned. And to make those comparisons, I have my doubts.

Also, I don't think that the optical two axis IS on the Stylus 1 is any better/worse than the older sensor shift IS that you have on your EPM1.

And as far as pocket ability - I don't know how large your pockets are (cargo pants?), but if I take my EP5 (which is larger than your EPM1), and put on my 14mm 2.5 pancake, it is MUCH more pocketable than my Stylus 1 is.
