My first thought as well. Big, with the adapter and all, but better than any system equivalent, at least leaving the 12-40 and 12-35 out of the equation.

I must say, the 12-50 is sharper than some folks maintain, although its slowness is inarguable.

The 12-50 is indeed sharp but not at 50mm. it's sharpness drops at the long-end.

The vignetting at 12mm F3.5 is also pretty high but it get's much better at F5.6

Since you also get decent macro and a wider angle it's the only valid side grade.

I think saving up for a second hand 12-35mm or 12-40mm would be a better option.
