Dear Friends!
I know there are a few posts regarding Magic Lantern for 650D/T4i though I am very confused, seriously I am.
Got a few questions:
1 - I mainly want to use 650D/T4i for RAW format Cinematography and I really want to know its current limitations, I know that for 550D/T2i and 600D/T3i the ML is very stable and provides more or less everything though I have been told that ML for 650D/T4i is not so reliable and stable and specially there isnt any support for SOUND.
Well it offers no enhancement for sound but you should still be able to use the Canon functions. Am I wrong ?
2 - How I will install the ML on my Camera?
It is all described here .
3 - I have been told that there are daily or weekly updates of ML so do I need to install the updates every single time?
Well, if you don't update you may miss on a new function, an enhancement, a bugfix... Then again, if a version exist that satisfies you perfectly why update ? Stay abreast of ML actuality and update whenever some good reason for it appears.
Also Is there a chance that such repeated installations may harm my DSLR?
It is not the repetitions of the updates per se that would be damageable. There is always a chance that some bug is introduced in a development snapshot though. There is a clear risk although great damage doesn't seem to occur often at all.
4 - For RAW Video do I need SANDISK EXTREME or SANDISK EXTREME PRO Memory Card? (Currently I own one Sandisk 32GB Extreme)
What FrankieJ said. That card is faster than what the T4i can output.
5 - Is there any web page that can tell me which options are available or not for so and so camera?
Dunno.
Most of my questions are a bit silly (apologies for that) though seriously I have worked really hard to buy my very first DSLR so naturally I have my fears and doubts
Understandably.
, I hope you guys will help and guide me.
Doing our best. BTW Mascott is also a videographer just starting up with ML. Check out the thread he started. Maybe you will be able to help one another ?
Best of luck and much fun for you.
Thanks.
