Corrupted .cr2 files
Working on a project that has me processing a bunch of older RAW files. Like from the years 2004-2008 and I am finding an alarming number of corrupt .cr2 files. My question is this normal. I notice none of my old JPG or TIFF are corrupted like this. are raw files more delicate than other image files and degrade faster? Would it help to store old files as .dng. The files were stored on a readynas. I am hoping the versions on our backups are ok but this is kind of alarming about 2 percent of the old files I pulled are no good
