Do I Need IS ?

I am currently shooting a Canon 5D mk III with a Canon 24-105 f4 L, I also use my Canon 70-200 2.8 II on this body. I am looking to upgrade the 24-105 to the 24-70 2.8 II, but I am a little concerned about not having IS on this lens.

I am a beginner portrait photographer and feel that I need a sharper lens in this focal range. As you can see I am good for 70mm and above but would like to use the new 24-70 2.8 II for larger groups. I shoot on location, parks, client’s homes and gardens and some studio. I am 57 and the hands are not as steady as they use to be.

Will my keeper rate go way down without having IS on this lens?

Your time and thoughts are appreciated.
