Nikon could revisit this... From 25 years ago
What's interesting? It had a 2/3" sensors and came with 2 lenses: QV Nikkor 10-40mm f/1.4 and QV Nikkor 11-120mm f/2
Well those focal lengths seem rather familiar don't hey? And if you follow the link, those lenses seem rather massive, indicating that maybe they could work for a 1" sensor as well.
Next, Nikon's first commercial digital cameras: E2 and E3 series, here X-rayed.
What's interesting here? The cameras contained optics to shrink the image from a normal F-mount film lens onto the small imaging sensor, boosting the lens' speed immensely. Basically same idea what the speed boosters are doing nowadays. Apparently it didn't work very well at that time, but again, something that could be revisited and fitted into a next-gen F-mount adapter.
It's nice of Nikon to think of the future, but they could also improve a lot by looking into their own past. A 10-40/1.4 lens? Yep I'd sell all my other equipment to have one.
