You should try and use a lens calibration tool to properly test the camera. What you are showing can be because of multiple reasons. First and most important your camera or the models movement. Then the worst case scenario a missalignment of the AF sensor that somebody mentioned. If you place your camera on a tripod and shoot a lens caliber test then you might see if it is one of these. If it is missalignment than on the left side you will have let's say -2 and on the right +2 in focus.

I know that the 24-70 is supposed to be a great lens but it could also be that the sharpness of the lens in the corners is not that good?
