Is CA removed automatically like lens distortion?

Lateral CA & geometry correction data is written by camera's firmware (in E-M1 case) in raw file and so ACR/LR do apply it now (current ACR/LR final releases), preliminary support (in RC versions) was correcting only geometry, but not lateral CA

Does this mean it is not necessary to check the "Remove Chromatic Aberration" box when developing a photo?
