Fuji white balance in my opinion is one of its very strong points. I found the same thing in dim indoor unsual lighting using an Nex 6 or a Nikon D800E neither could get a decent image. But my XE1 would get it every time.

As far as resolution the XE1 is very good. A bit weak with foliage but obviously you can get very sharp shots and the images have excellent micro contrast for a sharp snappy look.

More so with the primes like the 35mm over the excellent 18-55 zoom.

But head to head with the A7r its a different story. Now its the A7r's strength - resolution. XE1 18-55 at 18mm A7r Samyang 24mm F1.4

The A7r is very sharp and detailed even zoomed right in.

Also Sony auto white balance is actually very good in a night scene. Better than Nikon's.

Every camera has its strengths and weaknesses so its part of the evaluation process which one suits your needs now.

I am impressed with the Fuji more than the A7r in your shots but they are not the same shot so comparison is hard.
