Nikon Df, how easy to focus manually?

Re: Not much different than my D800

My experience with the green dot is that it has a degree or range where it is solid not just a specific point.

Think of it as a form of thermometer where it is supposed to turn green at exactly 72°.  However, it really turns solid green a few degrees before 72 and stays green a few degrees after.

You can see this when focusing a manual lens where it turns green as you approach perfect focus and you can still turn the focus ring a little bit more before it turns off.

Not a problem when the aperture is stopped down, but when wide open, focus becomes more ambiguous due to a very shallow depth of field.

Also, the green dot is way off from the subject in the viewfinder, so you must move you gaze off the focus point to work the green dot.
