Re: Epson 3800 printing problem

The way I do it on my 3880 and I presume it is the same for the 3800 is to set the media type ie: Glossy; Lustre or Matte and then if I am using paper greater than say 290gsm then I would set the platen gap to 'wide'.

The heaviest paper I use is 320gsm and when using this I would either try 'wide' or 'wider' and see if there is any difference in printed quality.

Epson recommended the rear manual feed section for heavy papers from 290gsm but I have used the Sheet feeder section as well without any problems.

I have found this thread to be really interesting and would thank all those that have contributed. I have just printed a matte print for the first time in 6 months as per Joe's recommendations  without any issues.

Lawrence I hope you sort your problem out and I'm sure if you use a wide platen gap then this will be a short term solution
