Great Idea. ... I'll be able to get most of the whole train in that way.  And the f/1.7 helps too.

2) shoot RAW, if you are not already


3) If you have any older lenses, consider them also. For example my old Canon FD 135/F2.5 or FD 50mm F1.4 might do nicely in this scenario. Manual Aperture and Manual focus, but that's what you want to use anyway.

I am a beginner, started being serious a couple  of years ago.   RAW a year ago.   Still learning ... with lots of good help from the internet.

I think with the pressure I left the camera on A(perture) priority ... the worst mistake of all because I lost control of metering (EV) and EC was of no practical use.
