A D700?  Still a fine camera but no I wouldn't.  But I think you slightly miss the point.  The D700 is from a time when dual card slots were not commonly available.  If you shoot critical events and you're still using a D700 then my opinion is that it is time to upgrade.  There are a lot of camera options out there today.  If one shoots critical events for pay that can't be re-shot then you should have equipment up to the task.

I know you don't agree with that and no argument I make will change your mind.  That's OK.  You won't change mine either.
