Will Fuji be bringing out a 90mm lens(135mm in full format ). Loved the 135,always had one in all my camera systems ,Pracktica Pentax and Nikon.

Only fuji knows, the rest is speculation. I too would like to have something in the range between 75mm - 90mm (equivalent to around 100 - 135mm). There are several M mount options from Leica, Zeiss and Voigtlander.

I've been awaiting a 135mm equivalent for some time. It's an excellent focal length. It doesn't even need to be that fast. As long as it was smaller/lighter than the 55-200mm which is all we have for that FL at the moment...

This was my solution - I bought a used Leica Macro Elmar 90mm f4 - very happy with the way it renders colour and whilst not as tack sharp as, say, the Fujinon 35mm it's way sharp enough and v smooth.

Agreed its needed. I love my 135L on my Canon and would really like an equivalent. Since they can make a 56mm f/1.2 I'm hoping they can make an 90mm f/2 that isn't too large.

For now I got the 55-200mm to use but its quite large and its the only real AF option. The IS is good though.

I also use my Zeiss 85mm f/4 ZM with the mount adapter to give me a small package.

I use the same setup and works great though no AF of course

I'm using the 85 1.2L and is out of this world. 1.2 gives fantastic bokeh and soft corners which end up blurry anyway for most (all?) shots wide open. 1.4 and above reaches tack sharp fairly quick. I'm not even waiting for a 90mm from Fuji because I can bet it won't be 1.2 - and probably not even 1.4.

I am using Nikkor 85 1.4D and here are examples in the thread I posted few days ago

I absolutely would love a 135mm equivalent lens - this is my favorite length for portraits.

Would you give up the 1.4 for 1.8, particularly if you have to pay 500$ extra for it, even though you will be getting auto-focus ? Would a lighter weighted 56 influence your decision ? Just curious what others with wide aperture lenses think.

135 is a great subject length. Ironically I never realised until I bought a Tamron 90 macro for my old Pentax K20...

Summicron-R 90/f2, probably the heaviest lens I have. It is a good portrait lens, for people too!

Probably f4

Probably f4

I prefer to use my Summarit 90/2.5 - for ½ stop less aperture you lose about half the weight. The Summicron is just too heavy on the X-E1 for my taste. Of course, YMMV...

I completely understand - apart from the weight, the lens is 55mm long but the adapter is 34mm and this adds the drawback of the weight being at the end of quite a long lever, so it really doesn't balance on the X-E1. If common sense reigned in my head, I'd go for the Summarit... but that front element on the Summicron just makes me giddy lol.

I have the 90 Elmar - C f4 that's a very usable lens , but I prefer the Leica Elmarit 90/2.8 R made by Leitz Canada - bigger and much heavier and I guess just as good as anything Fuji would make.

I am about to get the 23mm, will buy the 56mm, and would love a 90mm too. Been on my list for AGES - since the beginning. Then we would have
  • 14mm (~21)
  • 23mm (~35)
  • 35mm (~52/3)
  • 56mm (~85)
  • 90mm (~135)
Fantastic. FUJI are you listening?

IS why I will not buy the 60mm, I already have the 18-55mm and that is a great lens.. I have a 135 Minolta but only the F3.5 and not sharp at all. I used to have a nikor in the 90 range and loved it

what I need now is that 14mm lotta bucks though
