Hi Alan,

I put this and one of the shots from the garden series side by side in PS at 100%. The robin is MUCH sharper. Some of that could be due a faster shutterspeed on the robin and some could be due to jpeg engine but could also there be a slight back or front focus on the K3 with the DA*? Were you using the same jpeg settings on the 5 as with the 3 . . . of course that doesn't mean that jpeg engine handles the same settings in exactly the same way.

Bob i suspect its the JPG engine, all those 24 mega pix is probably the cause, either way i will be reverting to the trusted K5II.

Another question would be how did you have the antialiiasing set on the K3? . . .cause it that is without filter and the 5 ii is with then that is a huge difference in sharpness.

Bob, its left at default off.

Well glad you made a decision and hope they treat you right.

WOW with the filter off on the K3 that makes the sharpness difference even more significant.
