Re: Reflection: On a full-frame Sigma dSLR

There certainly seem to have been big price drops on the SD1Merrill very recently, which suggests to me that something new is about to be announced.

My favourite "blue-chip" camera shop in the UK has just dropped the price of the SD1 Merrill with 17-50 f2.8 lens to £999.00 (UK Pounds) and £799.00 (UK pounds) for the camera body alone. The cheapest I could find the camera lens combination anywhere a couple of months ago was about £1600 (UK pounds) - and that was from a "grey importer" - but with most retailers charging over £2000 at that time.

Interestingly at least one retailer on Amazon is still selling the SD1 Merrill + lens for about £5000 (UK pounds). What a bizarre price difference!!
