58mm f/1.4 review

Love it when RAWs are offered up.

But really upon scrutiny, focal plane was not critically adjusted to make a good comparison.  The one shot where the bokeh supposedly was of higher quality over quantity showed significant backfocus on the 50mm 1.4 vs the 58mm 1.4.  The higher compression + closer to MFD focal plane would make a tremendous difference on background blur, sorry to say.  The globe shot in RAW showed not a huge difference.  The statue shot showed better performance on the 58 not explained much by focal plane differences particularly in less coma, etc...somewhat utterly bizarre difference in sharpness of trees from one lens to another where the two trees besides the statue look to be similar in distance...but one is blurry and one is sharp and vice versa depending on lens.  Maybe it was windy...for only one tree...at a time.
