Re: EX2F Smart Filter mode no longer works!
I really like the camera. I have just got a Nex 6 which is lovely but those noiseless extra f stops in the EX2 overtake the extra ISO performance with the Nex 6 and kit lens at full zoom in really low light. Probably most big sensor fans on DPR would argue that to the death but no problem as it is what I have found in practice. I was going to sell the EX2 to fund the Nex 6 but will keep it as it complements the Nex.

Interesting analysis.
Re the EX2F vs LX7, I actually get results with the EX2F that are sometimes better than the LX7 ones I have seen during my own in store tests and on review galleries. (Exception, video, the LX7 does 60fps.)
Re the bug, I'm actually finding the JPEGs pretty good, despite the reviews that say otherwise, so not going to use RAW any mAW.
After the appallingly unreliable and ethically questionable behaviour I experienced with Samsung support when the screen on my otherwise excellent Galaxy Note 8 cracked on it's own overnight (heat stress during charging), I do not want to go through hell returning the EX2F so shall keep it. It's great in all other areas, except the noisy blacks in low light video because you cannot reduce the ISO when recording video.
*I admit the JPEGs are a bit lacking in colour so I adjust the saturation slightly off camera if needed.

This could actually be a hardware bug in your camera motherboard/memory. I find everything does ungrey and have never had to reset for this. In fact this is the first Samsung I have had that does not need resets or battery pulls.
As to your comment people have been saying this for years to no avail. Samsung just like to balance costs to revenue and this sort of thing is probably not an issue to them.
This forum really exists just to get it off your chest. There is never any real sign from Samsung that user views are of any real importance (if you are into Star Trek I think it helps if you imagine you are doing trade with a Ferengi business model). The hard fact is that as long as they can sell EX2f's it is not really important if they work properly. Probably most users do not venture into Raw or change deep parameters. They are just there as a cost limited half-arsed attempt to bring in some enthusiasts but most would go for the Panasonic LX7 (but not Panasonic's finances which sort of justifies Samsung approach but do not tell them I said that).
I would send the thing back on warranty as resets wipe WIFI setup, when I did one reset to see what happened, and that is unacceptable as it makes it less trvial.
