Canon 1100d or 100d ? and what lens, I need to do surveillance photos
Re: Canon 1100d or 100d ? and what lens, I need to do surveillance photos
As was mentioned the Canon SX50 sounds like an excellent choice in good lighting. If you wanted to spend a little more money, consider the Canon 70D with the newly announced Tamron 150-600mm VC lens. That will give you a 960mm EFL reach with 20 megapixels. It's a black lens, not a white lens so it would be better for your use (especially at 300 feet away for surveillance). We are waiting to hear about the quality of that telephoto lens and the pricing. So all bets are off until we hear more. But it's a thing to think about for future applications. If the lens quality is similar to the Tamron 70-300mm VC lens, that's a huge plus. We are thinking that the lens might cost between $1000 and $2000 (USD)...at least we hope so, so that it's affordable. It's relatively light compared to some of the Canon telephoto lens that have over 800mm EFL (with a crop camera).
