I have the feeling that, if ergonomists would design cameras with optimized control layouts, the results would look quite different from both SLR and rangefinder types. And for the better. Unfortunately, no mainstream manufacturer has so far been brave enough to break out of the mold, instead they cater to misguided (my opinion) desires of invoking the quaint past of photography and sticking modern technology into old-style boxes.
