RX1 and RX100 are unique, RX10 is not

I compared the RX10 to a Panasonic Lumix G6 (has an EVF too) + Panasonic G Vario 14-140 lens.

The RX10 has a 12-100mm F/3.8 lens in m43 terms, the G Vario is 14-140mm F/3.5-5.6. The RX10 is a bit wider and a bit faster at the narrow end but very comparable overall.

Using http://camerasize.com/compact/#455.34,489,ha,t , both combos look very similiar in size with the lenses attached. The Lumix is a bit narrower but a tad longer.

The weights are comparable too: 813g (RX10) vs. 655g (Lumix with lens) ; the Lumix is 19% more lightweigt actually.

Even the price points are very similiar: $1298 (RX10) vs. $1172 (Lumix with lens swapping, kit for 14-140; $638 + $700 - $166) using current B&H prices -- the RX10 wil lsure come down to $1100-$1200 when shipping too.

So in summry:

The RX10 is no unique offer, it has a peer.

While the RX1r and RX100m2 are absolutely unique, with no peer I am aware of.

I do NOT say the RX10 isn't a fine camera. It probably is and may outperform the Lumix (or not). I am only mentioning that there is a peer at all it can be compared with.
