Low light performance - mft sensor vs aps-c sensor

I'm really a novice in this field (mft), but I currently have a Lumix G2, and am trying to decide what will give better low light performance, faster lens/es, newer camera body (GX7; G6;), both, camera body and lens/es, or moving up to a completely larger sensor?

I know faster glass will help, but will the investment in glass be worth it when the sensor on the G2 is "ancient technology"?
