Anyone gone from Panny G1 to GX7 ?

I have just bought a GX7 as a long overdue upgrade to the original Panasonic G1 and here are some thoughts and findings...

The bad...

The 4 extra megapixels (12 to 16) is hardly noticeable, which is disappointing.

Ergonomically copared to the G1, the GX7 is a pig to hold and use.

The good...

The low light ability of the GX7 is amazing.

The dynamic range of the GX7 is brilliant - which among other things equates to:
...the GX7 does not blow out highlights like the G1 does.

As I also shoot with a Sony A77 which has 24Mp sensor i'll briefly compare it with that...

The good...

The GX7 is smaller and lighter to carry but not by as much as I would have thought and not 'conveniently' so (IE. It is definitely not pocketable).

The GX7 is a far better performer in low light and at high ISO than the A77.

The bad...

The detail from the GX7 is poor compared to the A77 24mp sensor.

The A77 is much much nicer to hold and shoot with than the GX7.

So my big questions are:

Is the GX7 a worthy upgrade to the G1 ?

Is £800 for the GX7 well spent - considering the 2 cameras I already have ?

Well I have only had it a few days and have to say the jury is still out on that.

I would be interested in others thoughts.
