Want to buy a flash for my new Panny G5
Kind of marking this thread.... I'd like to hear what other folks have to say.
I've got an Olympus FL-36 I bought several years ago; it's smaller than the FL-50, and I believe was replaced by the FL-600R which has similar dimensions. It's a decent quality bounce and swivel flash and works well with all my 4/3 cameras; I've used it on an Oly E-PL1 and Panny G1 and G5 with good results.
On the down side, since it's a 2-battery flash it's a bit slow to recharge and it doesn't last long without fresh batteries, and it's a bit unweildy on a micro-4/3 body; entirely do-able but still not quite small enough to be "perfect". It's also not a "professional" level flash and they warn you not to use it for extended shoots (like a wedding); I've taken maybe 50-60 shots in 15 minutes with it without any problems.
I've seen this flash used for as little as US$100; a bargain for this kind of quality.
