There is no reason sony will break its best selling series

If Sony market research indicates that a DSLR-shape will increase sales, then that's what they will do.

The elimination of the NEX name, and the shape of the A3000, demonstrates that Sony is open to change.

Besides, megacorps do the darnedst things.

Nobody, other than Sony, knows what they are going to do, and Sony isn't talking.

But change has to be more than just a rename. I personally think that it will help in the longer term to have a brand awareness for Sony to market its ILCs under. Alpha NEX has led many to believe that NEX is a brand separate from Alpha and that has led to a disarray in terms of marketing. This is even more important as Sony attempts to add more options.

As long as Sony adopts a convention that the numbers will identify class of camera body (inherited from Minolta) and number of digits identify mount/body style, I say... Bring it on!
