start slowly

You definitely do not need the EM1 -  after you use m4/3 lenses for a while, you will not want to keep your 4/3 lenses, especially since you already feel the 11-22 is too big.  The focus speed and small size, light weight nature of the m4/3 lenses is addictive, you won't want to go back.

Having said that, it is a big change to adopt m4/3 - getting used to EVF and the more complicated menus of m4/3.  Even learning how to hold still such small lightweight camera/lens takes a while.

So my advice is to get one of the later smaller cameras plus kit lens - EPL5 or EPM2, or the equivalent in Panasonic line up (just know you will see different color signature if you shoot jpg).  Even better if you buy one used, just stay to the later models as the sensor quality really improved last year.  Or snap up a used EM5, as so many are being dumped by those getting EM1s right now, and those EM5s are hardly used.  The IQ will be so much better than E620 and will give you a chance to adapt.  You can decide later what you want to do with additional lens purchases or camera upgrades, but the kit lens will still be a good lens to own.
