Re: "I am selling my Nikon gear"

I'm in the opposite camp -- I started with mirrorless (LOTS of it) because they were supposed to be compact large sensor cameras and I liked the sound of that. I'm also a live view addict.

Eventually I bought a DSLT and filled out a whole system including f/2.8 zooms through the entire range. That wasn't fun for my wallet and they're not that fun to carry around. And I don't always appreciate the amount of attention they draw. But a lot of my shooting is sports/action, and no mirrorless camera can handle that yet.

I think a lot of people in DSLRs "over-bought" something that is capable of far more than they need and confers other disadvantages (weight, OVF required, poor video, etc) that they're noy happy with. The various mirrorless systems have given them a better balance of compromises for what they want to use their cameras for and there's nothing wrong with that.

I have a full SLT system, a fuller m4/3 system, and I'd totally buy an X system if I could justify the cash outlay. And probably a full frame option too. I love being able to flexibly choose a different set of trade-offs for a given photographic (or video) task.
