The sooner the technology allows Nikon to go mirrorless on the F-mount, the better as far as I am concerned. But we are nowhere near ready for it. The EVFs need more resolution, need to do a better job of "snapping" in and out of focus, need to render less noise, and need to use less power. The Olympus EM1 shows the technology is advancing, but that's still dealing with a sensor that's only about one-quarter the area of FX and presumably therefore one-quarter the power consumption. Hardly a fair test of what this technology will face in 135 FX format.

Maybe the 2019/2020 updates to the high end of FX? So about the D6 and two generations on from the D800 whatever they call it. That's my off-the-cuff prediction anyway.
