Great value MISC
3
Received this couple of days ago. Took some shot indoor/outdoor. The indoor shots were taken at night with room lights on. I quite pleased with the result. The AF is not bad. The camera came with FW 1.0.6 and I later upgraded to FW 2.0.2. The new FW was an improvement and the AF was good. The video is excellent. I like the touch focus (well implemented compared to Olympus ones). I do own Oly EPL1, EP3, OMD and Canon 6D. I find the AF performance of the EOS M is better than EPL1 and EP3 (EP3 faster on primes like 45mm etc). The OMD is quicker on bright (outdoor) but can’t say about the indoor performance. The EOS M IQ in higher ISO (low light) is much better than OMD. Also, the LCD graphic interface is much better and well suited for touch interface compared to Olympus ones. The EOS M integration with the native DSLR components like lens and flashgun is seamless and great. I think it’s the best between all MISC in this regards. I could use all my Canon 6D components and it performs satisfactorily.
The EOS M built quality is solid; it came with EFM 22mm lens and EF mount adaptor. The lens and adaptor were solid built to. It’s a great camera and I’m not sure why the experts and users were complaining. Some complained about lack of direct function buttons. I use Canon 6D with direct access buttons but found the touch/soft button of the EOS M easy to use. We live in a world of smart phones with touch screens. If we can apply/use that with ease than the touch interface is easy.
