Why isn't A7/A7r easily blowing OMD EM1 away?

Re: A niche camera with too many warts

NEX-7 $1,200 (list in USA) + SEL24mm $1,100 = $2300

A7 $1,700 + FE35mm $800 = $2500

$200 buys you much better high-ISO, better AF, an arguably more compact (well, not in height, I'm not a fan of faux DSLR look), and better image quality with comparable DoF. The MTF of the FE35mm kills the 24mm. Yes, the NEX-7 has gone down in price and yes I personally prefer the form factor and interface but the A7 is actually a very compelling value. The NEX-7 is also an older platform now with less flexibility using 3rd-party lenses and a depreciated (albeit superior design) hotshoe.

Comparing the FE lenses to their Sony/Zeiss/Touit APS-C equivalents makes them seem like steals. The FE 55mm looks like a real killer lens at a fraction of other fast Zeiss/Leica normal primes.
